I was really excited to learn how to do boxed corners. They really aren't hard at all and make the tote bag roomy. This design for Trinity Church's Womanspace project uses medium print fabric to make a bright and cheerful contrast with the solid color twill fabric. Using it for the straps and front pocket can make this simple bag look stunning. I lined the inside of the straps with batting so they are soft but sturdy. Below is a video I used to make the bag (although I made minor changes and did the straps completely differently) so follow the .pdf file instructions to make your bag look like the one below. I like to use a medium weight poly/cotton twill for the outer fabric and a colorful print for the pocket, straps and lining.
