I made this bag out of decor fabric that I have been using for cushion covers. It works really well as the outer fabric on bags. For this bag I use a solid color for the lining and it looks great! I used cork in two pieces (to not waste a larger piece) for the base.

This cute Tea Caddy can be used to hold napkins, teabags etc. I've made them as gifts and placed small cocktail size napkins, muffins, small fruit cakes and teabags inside.
For the placemat, I pieced scrap fabric in pastels to make a rectangle that measures 12 by 16 inches. I like to use Soft and Stable for the batting but it is not fusible so can be tricky to decide how to sew it in. I just sewed over some of the pieced stitching.

I cut Five 5 inch squares but should have cut them only 4 1/2 inches each because the caddy came out a bit larger than I wanted.
I cut the handle 10 by 3 inches and that could have been 9 by 3.
I used firm interfacing for the outer squares and none for the lining. I used firm interfacing for the handles but could have used thinner interfacing for the handles since it is folded then sewn.

This is the first quilt I ever made for a cat! It's for Lana who Alex and Khim's cat. I made it large because Alex said she is quite a large cat. It works nicely as a wall hanging if Lana prefers not to lie on it.
I used batiks for the log cabin block and the sides and the applique and binding. The beige on the front and the backing are heavy canvas. I used a thick wool batting.

I just bought myself a copy of The Coverdale Psalter and made a quilted book cover for it with a sewn in place marker ribbon!
