Bright Pink Batik Bag - Magic Cathedral Window Block - Toiletries Bag - Toiletries Bag with Interior Vinyl Pocket - Bags for 12 children in Nepal - Chair Cushions - Meditation Cushion
I love the fabrics for this smaller messenger bag. Here are more details: Small Messenger Bag
In 2019, I was most proud of making these:

Bags for 12 Children in Nepal

I made the tote below using Sewspire's 7 Chackra Inspired tote video and gave it to Joey who came out as gay last year. It has got the rainbow in it. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. (the indigo and violet were a bit of a fudge)
It has 2 long side pockets and is very sturdy since I used a medium weight canvas fabric as well as the colorful batiks.

Here's the video with instructions:

I made this tote bag for Lulu who is undergoing chemo and radiation. I used the Magic cathedral window technique to create the diamond shape after 4 sections of pieced blue fabric scraps (using the same technique as I did for the pink bag below).  I think it came out really nicely. It has a flat base and sides (no boxed corners)
I made several messenger bags this summer. Go here for more photos of exterior and interior designs.

Go here for a smaller type of messenger bag.
I made this lap quilt for my aunt Celeste. I challenged myself to use only fabrics that were in my stash.
I did not machine quilt this at all. I only tied knots using embroidery floss every 4 to 6 inches.

The first thing I made in 2019 was this large zipper case made out of batik scraps. I really like the fabrics I chose from my stash. I used the Bucket Bag method of construction but made the base rectangular using cork fabric. I created the curved strips by cutting gentle curves and and folding over the edge then stitching it.

This video is where I learned Karen Eckmeier's technique of cutting, folding and sewing curved strips. It creates a nice look and texture.
